A note from Interim Executive Director Samantha Putnam

So many of us are returning to work and school this new year in new ways and with new perspectives. As we approach this traditional season of reflection and intention setting, we feel renewed gratitude for the communities that have supported us — especially our alumni! We’re excited to say “thank you” with more ways to engage with campus. As we start this new year, we are grateful for you.

In partnership with our Alumni Board of Directors we are working hard to envision the future of our alumni programing, and seeking ways to engage with you that are meaningful, and provide a connection back to campus and to those areas you are most passionate about.

We are so grateful to those of you who participated in the fifth annual Alumni Day of Service back in August. We had over 500 alumni giving back from all over the U.S., as well as a good showing of Gauchos participating internationally.

In September we re-opened the Mosher Alumni House, your home on campus, and we were busy with student organizations, campus departments, and community friends filling our rooms and bringing some vibrancy back to our hallways.

In October we hosted a week-long series of professional development events during the Gaucho Professionals Expo. We were so impressed by the support and advice our fellow Gauchos want to share to create a thriving network, where Gauchos hire Gauchos and mentorship is just a click away on the Gaucho Network.

What brings us most enjoyment, is our work spotlighting you, our alumni, and weaving you into our communications and asking you for your input as we shape the future of the UC Santa Barbara Alumni Association.

Finally, I am so proud to share below the generous philanthropic contributions we have received over the past year from our generous alumni donors, who support our work and contribute to making the Gaucho community the best it can be.

We are so grateful for your support,
